SharenGo is a group aiming to organize, explain and work on principles of sharing between differents companies in the context of IT but oriented on the core business (not IT related). of all participants.

This sharing exists, amongst other things, by creation and use of free software components. The values and the organization associated with free software, until now, are mainly confined to the technical side of the subject. Our ambition is to extend this philosophy on elements closer to the business practices of the various participants. It is obvious from our point of view, that joint work, sharing of know-how, competence, models, source code, etc allow some progress to be made in term of:

quality,
economy,
speed of construction,
perenity,
safety

Our first actions are related to build some free software components and the associated building methodology. We are very interested in UML modeling and MDA tools but always with a simple and pragmatic orientation. We already have some interesting tools to share some are for IT people (UML model management and transformation, toolchain, rich client framework, etc) others are oriented toward content management and e-business applications.

All this can be done without weakening the confidentiality and the interest of of each company and while meeting the definite needs for each one. Each company is unique and has needs which are very specific. How can one reconcile specific needs and mutualized solutions ? We think that specific solutions can be built starting from common bricks. Joint work relates to the installation of these bricks and not inevitably of complete solutions.

Sharengo is also a place of exchange making it possible for various companies to compare their problems, and why not, to collaborate on certain subjects.

Sharengo organization is build around differents thematics poles. The objective is to cover the complete spectrum of activities needed to define, build and run high level quality business platform.
We have today five main poles :

Methodology (organization and process related to definition, build and run of application)
Tools (what are the needed tools to be effective in the previously defined process, various architecture definition and how to easily be able to change it)
Projects and components (application and generic components, yes, here are open model and source code ;-) )
Infrastructure (how do we assure a very high level of robustness in areas like security, high availabily, performances, monitoring, etc)
Legal (various legal question about license, responsabilities, patent, etc)

Of course all materials provided in each pole are completely free (as in speech).
We do not think that one solution may fit all problems. Each kind of project is different and we hope to provide some basic (ok, not so basic ;-) ) elements which may be used and adapted to suit each user context.
We hope to be a point where a set of all the competences needed to build very high quality business platform may be found, shared, discussed and applied.
